Why a blocked site can look like a connection problem
A Kala phone blocks sites two ways.
Sites on the short list are blocked in the browser itself, which shows a page saying an administrator blocked the site.
Sites on the longer list are blocked when the phone looks up the address, so the browser shows an ordinary can't-reach error instead. Quad9's malware and phishing protection shows that same error.
